Everyone would behave like robots. God didn't want that. He did want people to freely choose to believe or not, to obey or not. Sin is just the word meaning to go your own way and do what is right in your eyes, but not in God's eyes. Also, I find nothing in the story to say that Abel was angry with Cain. He had no desires to kill Abel.
